Curaçao

Fortkerk, Fort Amsterdam, Willemstad

The Fortkerk, the United Protestant Church of Curaçao, built in 1769 in Fort Amsterdam, Curaçao’s oldest and most prominent monument built in 1635. There is a small cannonball embedded halfway into the facade. It was fired by Captain John Bligh of England (of Bounty fame), from Fort Waakzaamheid he had occupied.
